Cool Hair

Pictures and words by Dasheema Jarrett-Jones’09
IAMORJ, 2021

Book Cover of Cool Hair by Dasheema Jarrett-Jones'09. This children’s book by Dasheema Jarrett-Jones is dedicated to the author’s mom, who “never missed a beat to style her grandson’s hair while caring for us during a pandemic.”

This brightly illustrated story — Jarrett-Jones created all the colorful artwork — is about a little boy whose grandmother does something special with his hair each day, making it fun and always a surprise. This is an adorable story about love and the special bond between children and their grandparents.

Children can interact with back pages that feature hair patterns, encourage them to create their own hair designs, and provide space for them to draw the cool hair of family members.
