An avid golfer and self-described “student of the game,” Warren has written books spanning from Tiger Woods’s connection to the city of Rockford, Ill., to the landscape of Lake Superior, to a story about high school students digging up tall tales in their hometown of Beloit, Wis.

The Learner tells the story of Christopher Ek, a young pastor struggling with new issues at his church. Warren’s fourth book humorously and sagely discusses religious politics and the intricacy of the game he loves.
