Public Art Gallery

Art in the heart of downtown Beloit.

Entirely student-run, the gallery takes its name from the Myers Institute for the Art of Business and the Business of Art (ABBA). A key benefactor in the founding of CELEB, Dave Myers’49 is an entrepreneur personified, with successful ventures ranging from radio stations to real estate to restaurants. Luckily for CELEB, Myers’ business acumen is matched by his lifelong passion for music and the arts.

Open during the academic year, the gallery functions as an up-and-coming art space for emerging artists. Each semester, a student is hired as the manager, and, after hiring a student staff, is responsible for finding new artists, curating shows, marketing, and selling the art.

Like all opportunities at CELEB, Gallery ABBA is not limited to a particular discipline. Students need not be a studio art or art history major to help run the gallery. The only requirements are a collaborative spirit and willingness to work hard to promote the artists that the gallery represents.
