I teach a variety of Spanish language, culture, and literature courses, while my research focuses on the Medieval Mediterranean and, specifically, al-Andalus.

I was born in Romania’s Transylvania, but call Madison, WI my home. As often as possible, I like to share my interest in travel and learning about other cultures with my students. As an example, in the summer of 2022, I co-directed the Spain Global Experience Seminar, one of the many great study abroad opportunities offered at Beloit College.

Teaching at Beloit College has been an amazing experience! What I cherish most are building strong relationships with my students and supporting and encouraging them in their both while at Beloit and as they plan for their futures. I try make sure that every student I work with will have a wonderful, successful, and unforgettable experience at Beloit College.
