The content
of this website has been organized and written by Rama
Diabong. She is a student from Senegal at Beloit College,
and with a stipend from the Education Department in summer
2003, she created this informative location for students at
the College and in the Help Yourself Programs.
Rama obtained
her BA in African Literature and linguistics, and her Master's
Degree in English. She is now at Beloit College as an exchange
student but hoping to go to a graduate school and major in
International Relations - African studies.
With a
diplomat father she has traveled to different countries, mostly
in the African continent, like Ghana, Algeria, Mauritania,
Zimbabwe, The Gambia. She has also been to the USA - New York
- when she was younger.
Rama likes
cultural activities and was a very active member of her home
university's English Club and Drama Committee of which she
was the assistant of the leader. She was in charge of dance,
ballet, and all cultural events within the club including
poems and sketches, and so on.
