Deadlines

Deadlines for all assignments are noted above. Unless you have a documented illness, injury or other reason for submitting your work after the deadline, late work will be penalized 10% per day, including weekends. Some assignments will not be accepted late.

Attendance

Please plan to attend all class meetings. This course relies on the active participation and engagement of the class members. Missing class not only diminishes your educational experience, but that of the course itself. If you miss a quiz, you cannot make it up. Excessive absences will be reported to the Academic Advising Office.
Note: you will also self-evaluate your preparation and participation in this course at the end of the semester.

Special Needs

If you have a disability and would like to speak to someone about possible accommodations, please visit the LSSC (Learning Support Services Center) located on the first floor of Porter Hall. You will need to provide appropriate documentation of your disability to Diane Arnzen, Director of the LSSC. If you wish to receive accommodations in my class please provide me the LSSC Accommodation Verification Letter dated for this semester as soon as possible so your learning needs may be appropriately met.

Academic Honesty

All work you submit should be your own. When you work with others on an assignment be sure to place the names of all the participants on the assignment. As you research a topic you will collect material from other sources including written, video or electronic sources. This information will be used as you construct your own statements about a topic. Occasionally, you may want to use direct quotations from a text. In either case, all sources must be cited in your work. If you are not certain whether to cite a course or how to site a source, please consult me.

Violations of the Beloit College Academic Dishonesty Policy will be treated seriously. Please see pages 9-ll of the Student Handbook (Beloit College, 1998) for additional information on this policy.
